Bruriah High School of the JEC in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a Dean of Students.

The Dean of Students helps transform children’s lives by facilitating communication among the various members of the school community in meeting the needs of students and families, and helping each student achieve success in the classroom and out. The Dean models and acts in alignment with Bruriah’s mission, vision and core values. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong interpersonal skills, who is committed to helping build a strong school that empowers all students with the academic, character, and life skills they need to succeed in high school and beyond. We seek a Dean of Students who is committed to work with determination, integrity and purpose, embodying these essential qualities:

— Belief in the power of collaboration and works to foster a collaborative culture within the Bruriah community, staff, families and students

The Dean of Students is a full-time, key member of the school community and administrative team. The Dean’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the individual needs of each student are being met in the classroom and in all aspects of her education. The position requires ongoing assessment of and intervention in matters related to academic success, student-teacher relationships, parent communication and individual well-being.
